DESCRIPTION:April’s theme is women artists. Mere Doyen will present selected concept albums for consideration. Participants will vote to decide which one to listen to. \nAs Mere said\, these days people don’t sit still long enough to really listen to music\, let alone a whole album. Albums were originally made as a full-length work of art and today it seems more like music is being ingested in much smaller bites. Streaming platforms do not encourage the listener to stay in one place. Our goal is to encourage contemplation\, ease stress\, foster togetherness and allow people to meet on the creative plane. \nThe session is for listening and sitting with the music\, so talk is kept at a minimum. No phones allowed (can we leave them in the car?). Talk less\, listen more.

DESCRIPTION:May’s theme is singer/songwriters. Mere Doyen will present selected albums for consideration. Participants will vote to decide which one to listen to- the whole album. \nAs Mere said\, these days people don’t sit still long enough to really listen to music\, let alone a whole album. Albums were originally made as a full-length work of art and today it seems more like music is being ingested in much smaller bites. Streaming platforms do not encourage the listener to stay in one place. Our goal is to encourage contemplation\, ease stress\, foster togetherness and allow people to meet on the creative plane. \nThe session is for listening and sitting with the music\, so talk is kept at a minimum. No phones allowed (can we leave them in the car?). Talk less\, listen more.
