Islanders for Islanders is a joint initiative of the four Island churches. Our support in the year-round community is quiet and confidential. We support those who require assistance in a variety of important contexts.
Food, Rent and Utilities Support
We support those in need with:
- Healthy food shopping at the Village Market
- Distributing Stop & Shop gift cards
- The Islanders Meal Care Program delivers one meal a week
prepared by Billy Bloeth or Church on The Rock
to those who enjoy a friendly visit and a warm, nutritious meal - Assistance with rent and utility costs
Medical and Financial Hardship Support
Islanders support is available to those with medical and financial hardship. This support has included:
• Help paying for medical expenses
• Help paying insurance expenses and deductible shortfalls
• Off-island transportation
• End of life assistance
The expansion of Islanders initiatives would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our thoughtful and generous Fishers Island community. We are immensely grateful.
