Union Chapel Looks Ahead

Union Chapel Looks Ahead

On Sunday, May 30, Union Chapel said farewell to our pastor, Candy Whitman, who has accepted a call to a church in Amagansett. Starting next Sunday, June 6th, we will begin to welcome back three familiar faces – Pastors SaraJane Munshower, Pam Vollinger, and Krysia Burnham – who will be on Island to lead us in worship during the coming months while we conduct a search for our next year-round pastor. Services will be held at 10AM under the tent outside the Chapel. Please join us!

Why is worship moving outside? Spurred on by the need to address asbestos issues, we are making major upgrades to our building, with the aim of providing a renewed and welcoming gathering place for the community. Our plan is for the Sanctuary to be back in use this fall and an updated fellowship hall, new kitchen, and classroom wing ready for use this winter. We are still in the design phase and will offer regular updates as the project moves forward.
