“Dance for All People: A Movement & Medicine Duet”
Join Rachel Balaban, founder of DAPpers (Dance for All People) and Artist-in-Residence and Teaching Associate, Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, for a screening of a 12-minute micro-documentary film.
She will have a conversation following with Rev. Molly Frank, Associate Priest at St. John’s Episcopal Church and staff palliative care chaplain at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The film tells the story of DAPpers, an extraordinary intergenerational dance program combining Rhode Island seniors, Brown University undergraduates, medical students from the Warren Alpert Medical School, and community dance ensembles of all ages.
The conversation following the film will focus on how art generally, and in this case dance specifically, and intergenerational connection improve health and strengthen community.
